In a startling revelation, a gang operating in Bihar has been apprehended for orchestrating a peculiar cyber fraud under the guise of the ‘All India Pregnant Job Agency’ in Nawada district. The fraudulent scheme enticed individuals with the promise of substantial earnings amounting to Rs 13 lakh for impregnating childless women. While eight members of the gang are now in custody, the alleged mastermind, Munna Kumar, remains at large.
The modus operandi of this fraudulent enterprise involved reaching out to unsuspecting individuals through WhatsApp, soliciting their assistance in aiding “unfortunate” women struggling with infertility.
Participants were required to register for the scheme by paying a registration fee of Rs 799. Following registration, individuals were presented with a selection of women, and depending on their preferences, they were instructed to make a “security deposit,” ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000. The deposit amount correlated with the perceived attractiveness of the chosen woman.
Assurances were given that successful impregnation would result in a substantial “prize money” of Rs 13 lakh. Even unsuccessful attempts were promised a “consolation prize” of Rs 5 lakh, to be credited directly to their bank accounts.
During the arrest operation, law enforcement seized nine mobile phones, 2 printers, and numerous data sheets, shedding light on the intricate workings of this deceptive operation.
This shocking revelation underscores the extent to which cyber frauds are willing to go, exploiting unsuspecting individuals in the digital age.
