In a surprising move, billionaire real estate magnate Niranjan Hiranandani, co-founder, and managing director of the Hiranandani Group, chose to navigate Mumbai’s bustling cityscape using the local train system to “save time and beat the traffic.” A video capturing the 73-year-old businessman’s local train journey went viral after he shared the experience on Instagram.

In the video, Hiranandani is seen boarding an AC train bound for Ulhasnagar, a city in Maharashtra’s Thane district. Engaging with fellow passengers during the commute, he documented the insightful personal experience, emphasizing the efficiency of the city’s lifeline.

“Saving time and beating traffic with the City’s Lifeline, a journey from Mumbai to Ulhasnagar in an AC coach was an insightful personal experience,” he captioned the Instagram post. The video also features the viral theme song from the recently released movie “Animal.”

Since its posting, the video has amassed over 37 million views and received more than four lakh likes. While some commended Hiranandani for opting for public transport, others pointed out the use of an AC coach instead of the standard local compartment.

Comments on the post varied, with one user expressing hope that top business leaders adopt such practices daily for the benefit of pollution reduction and infrastructure development. Another user praised Hiranandani for staying grounded, stating, “No match to Hiranandani… down to earth… everyone wants to be associated.”

However, a playful jab surfaced in the comments, with a user suggesting, “When rich people travel in the train once in their lifetime, they film it.”
