In the latest exchange of verbal volleys between political rivals, the Congress has retaliated against AAP leader Bhagwant Mann’s recent remarks with a scathing response. Sandeep Dikshit, former Delhi MP, labeled AAP as “unreliable” in terms of alliance politics and questioned AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s grasp of such political dynamics.

Mann’s earlier remark, “Ek Thi Congress,” suggesting that Congress has become history in Delhi and Punjab, elicited a pointed response from Dikshit. The Congress leader cast doubt on AAP’s commitment to the INDIA alliance, raising questions about their participation in the upcoming 2024 general elections in alliance with Congress in Punjab and Delhi.

Dikshit emphasized the Congress party’s longstanding assertion regarding AAP’s unreliability. He stated, “Unfortunately, Arvind Kejriwal does not really understand what alliance politics is. If they (AAP) want to be a part of the INDIA alliance, they’ll have to work with other political parties.”

Taking a swipe at AAP leaders facing legal troubles, Dikshit remarked, “Tell me which party has 40% of its leadership in jail and the rest are ready to go?” He referred to the incarceration of senior AAP leaders over the liquor policy scam.

The political tension between AAP and Congress, bitter rivals in Delhi and Punjab, but part of the INDIA bloc, seems to be escalating. As the rift widens, questions loom over the future of their alliance and their strategy for the upcoming elections.
