In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion on Rani Jhansi Road, authorities in Delhi took decisive action by demolishing parts of two religious structures. Bulldozers were deployed to remove what authorities deemed as “illegal structures” encroaching upon the road.

Similar anti-encroachment drives have been conducted in different parts of the city in recent months, indicating a concerted effort to address the issue. Last year, the Public Works Department (PWD) initiated a demolition action against three structures on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg in central Delhi, emphasizing the need to maintain clear road rights of way.

The demolition at Rani Jhansi Road comes after a notice issued by PWD on January 1, highlighting the encroachment hindering pedestrian movement. The swift action aims to free up space and improve traffic flow in the affected areas.
