New Delhi,  Security has been significantly heightened around the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following claims made by AAP ministers suggesting a possible arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 4. This development comes after Kejriwal skipped the agency’s summons related to the Delhi Excise Policy case on the previous day.

AAP leaders Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj cited unnamed sources, stating that the ED is likely to conduct a raid and arrest Kejriwal. The Chief Minister, who has been willing to cooperate, has questioned the intent behind the summons, with AAP alleging political motivations. The party claims the BJP-led Centre is conspiring to hinder Kejriwal’s involvement in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

ED had previously issued summons on November 2 and December 21, both of which Kejriwal ignored. The party argues that the agency has not clarified whether Kejriwal is considered a witness or an accused in the excise policy case. AAP contends that the situation is a political maneuver to obstruct Kejriwal’s participation in the election campaign.
