Lucknow, The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for parts of Western Uttar Pradesh, including the Tarai area, anticipating rain, thunderstorms, and lightning between Wednesday and Thursday. Due to western disturbances, this wet spell activity is expected to impact Western, Central, and Northern regions of UP.

On January 31, districts in Western UP, including Ghaziabad, Noida, Bulandshahr, Meerut, and others, are likely to experience rain, thunder, and lightning, with wind speeds ranging between 30-40 kmph. The Terai region, including Shahjahanpur, Lucknow, Bahraich, and Shravasti, is also expected to be affected.

The forecast for February 1 indicates the possibility of rain, thunder, and lightning in Western, Central, and Terai regions of the state. The meteorological department warns that this weather may impact visibility, disrupt electrical systems, traffic flow, and potentially damage structures. Citizens are advised to stay indoors, avoid travel if possible, take safe shelter, and refrain from standing under trees. Precautions include keeping electrical/electronic devices unplugged.

Additionally, dense to very dense fog with visibility less than 50 meters is expected in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh on January 31. The IMD advises caution and warns of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places over the state.

In terms of temperatures, the minimum temperature in various cities ranged from 5.8 degrees Celsius in Gorakhpur to 9.2 degrees Celsius in Varanasi. Lucknow experienced a maximum of 23.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 9.2 degrees Celsius.

Stay tuned for further weather updates and safety recommendations.
