In anticipation of the planned Delhi Chalo march by farmer unions on Tuesday, Delhi and Haryana Police have heightened security measures. Delhi Police have issued traffic advisories, temporarily restricting the entry of commercial vehicles, including tractors, trolleys, buses, and trucks from Uttar Pradesh into Delhi. Strict security arrangements have been implemented at various border points, including Gazipur, Chilla, Loni, Rajokari, and Kapashera.

Delhi Police Advisory:

Starting February 12, commercial vehicles will be restricted at Singhu Border, with a complete ban on all vehicles from February 13. According to the advisory, traffic from Delhi to Ghaziabad can divert via Pusta Road, Patparganj Road, or Mother Dairy Road towards ISBT Anand Vihar. Diversions will also be in place around Tikri Border.

Possible Diversions:

Interstate buses heading to Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, and Kurukshetra may be diverted from Kashmere Gate Bus Adda to Majnu Ka Tila, Signature Bridge, Khajuri Chowk, and towards Loni Border. Traffic going from Delhi to Bahadurgarh and Rohtak will be directed from Mukarba Chowk on Outer Ring Road towards Madhuban Chowk, Bhagwan Mahavir Road.

Section 144 Imposed in Northeast Delhi:

As of today, Sunday, Section 144 has been enforced in the northeast districts of the national capital, restricting the assembly of people. Police have been instructed to prevent demonstrators from entering Delhi. Notably, similar restrictions were imposed at Gazipur Border during the farmers’ protests in 2020-21, with intensified police investigations.

Delhi Police Commissioner’s Directive:

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Northeast Delhi, Joy Tirkey, has issued orders prohibiting any violation of law and order. Anyone found breaching the law will face strict consequences.
