The inauguration of 220 projects by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu and Kashmir marks a crucial chapter in the state’s journey towards development. With an investment exceeding 32,000 crores, these projects span various sectors, including health, education, railways, roads, aviation, petroleum, and civic amenities. The initiatives aim to enhance infrastructure within the state and improve connectivity with the rest of India, exemplified by the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link, inaugurated by PM Modi.

The rail project, covering 185.66 kilometers and featuring 20 stations, is a significant milestone in facilitating smooth access within the state and boosting tourism. The removal of Article 370 in 2019 has expedited plans and programs, ushering in unprecedented development across different sectors in Jammu and Kashmir during PM Modi’s tenure.

The healthcare landscape has witnessed remarkable growth, with the establishment of two IITs and two AIIMS institutions, along with an increase in the number of medical colleges from four to twelve. The social justice initiative, incorporating the Valmiki community into the Scheduled Caste category, signifies a step towards inclusive social policies.

Jammu and Kashmir’s economy heavily relies on tourism, and the state, often referred to as “Paradise on Earth,” attracted two crore tourists last year. The region has experienced a significant reduction in incidents of violence and terrorism due to robust development projects, inclusive schemes, and welfare programs. Investments from various Indian companies reflect growing confidence in the region.

PM Modi emphasized that the world is closely watching Jammu and Kashmir, and foreign investors are eager to explore opportunities. The concerted efforts of the government and the active participation of the people are steering Jammu and Kashmir towards a peaceful and prosperous future.
