Celebrity power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are rumoured to be welcoming their first child very soon, according to sources close to the couple, as cited by Hindustan Times.

The buzz around Padukone’s pregnancy gained momentum after sources revealed to The Week that the actor is currently in her second trimester. Speculations initially arose when she was seen concealing her midriff at the 77th BAFTA red carpet event, fuelling rumours of her pregnancy. She graced the occasion in a stunning shimmery saree paired with custom jewellery by renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Padukone and Singh’s love story blossomed on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic romance, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. The couple, who tied the knot on November 14, 2018, at Lake Como in Italy after a six-year courtship, has been a fan favourite ever since. Their on-screen chemistry in movies like Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat has captivated audiences worldwide.

In a recent interview with Vogue Singapore, Padukone expressed her excitement about embracing motherhood, stating unequivocally, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.” Her sentiments echoed the values instilled by her upbringing, where family remains paramount. She emphasised her desire to maintain her roots despite the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry.

Padukone’s most recent film was the action thriller Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan. Fans eagerly anticipate her next venture, the sci-fi action thriller Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas, slated for release on May 9.

Meanwhile, Singh is gearing up to reprise his iconic role as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated cop drama, Singham Again. The star-studded cast includes Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor. Additionally, Singh is set to headline Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, scheduled for a 2025 release, promising an action-packed cinematic experience for audiences.
