In a historic move, the BJP has introduced artificial intelligence (AI)-powered translations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches in eight regional languages. This technological breakthrough is claimed to be a first-of-its-kind initiative globally.

The utilization of AI was initially witnessed during an event in Varanasi last December when PM Modi’s Hindi speech was seamlessly translated into Tamil in real-time at Kashi Tamil Sangamam. The recent implementation extends this capability to speeches available in Bangla, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Marathi, Odia, and Malayalam, disseminated through respective social media accounts managed by the party’s IT cell.

PM Modi expressed optimism about this new approach, stating, “This is a new beginning, and hopefully, it makes it easier for me to reach you.” The BJP’s IT cell has played a pivotal role in spearheading this AI-driven initiative, underscoring the party’s commitment to harnessing technology for wider audience engagement.

While the initiative has sparked enthusiasm among supporters for its potential to enhance accessibility and understanding of PM Modi’s speeches across diverse linguistic communities, skeptics question the accuracy and overall impact of AI-dubbed speeches.
