In response to speculations surrounding Indian director Ekta Kapoor’s purported remake of the popular Pakistani television drama Tere Bin, the show’s producers have issued a statement, asserting that no consent or permission has been sought for the adaptation.

In an Instagram post, co-producer Abdullah Kadwani expressed immense pride in Tere Bin’s international acclaim and global admiration, hailing it as a trailblazer for “Pakistani content resonating on a global scale.” Addressing unconfirmed reports of an Indian adaptation, Kadwani clarified that no official consent had been obtained from the channel’s producers.

While acknowledging the inspiration drawn from the show, Kadwani underscored the importance of any remake or adaptation adhering to legal, ethical, and moral considerations. He emphasized the need for professional courtesy among fellow producers, urging respect for the industry’s standards.

Recent Indian media buzz hinted at Ekta Kapoor’s intention to remake Tere Bin, though the director never confirmed the rumors. Reports even suggested potential casting considerations for the adaptation, involving actors Kanika Mann and Ayesha Singh.

Geo TV’s romantic drama Tere Bin, starring Yumna Zaidi and Wahaj Ali as Meerub and Murtasim, gained immense popularity globally, amassing millions of views per episode on YouTube. Despite occasional controversies, the show became a fan favorite, breaking records and captivating audiences worldwide. Following its success, Abdullah Kadwani announced a second season promptly after the conclusion of the initial run.
