Lok Sabha Election 2024: Polls to be conducted in 7 Phases, check voting dates and State-wise details

The Election Commission has announced the Lok Sabha Election 2024. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar revealed that this time the elections will be conducted in 7 phases. Polling will commence on June 4. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stated at the beginning of the press conference, “Our team is now complete, and we are fully prepared for the largest festival of Indian democracy.” The term of the 17th Lok Sabha is set to conclude on June 16, 2024. Additionally, the terms of the legislative assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim will also end in June 2024.

First Phase:

– States: Elections will be held in 21 states.

– Voting Date: April 19

– Nomination: March 28

– Last Date for Withdrawal of Nomination: March 30

Second Phase:

– States: Elections will be held in 30 states.

– Voting Date: April 26

Third Phase:

– States: To be announced

– Voting Date: May 7

Fourth Phase:

– States: To be announced

– Voting Date: May 13

Fifth Phase:

– States: To be announced

– Voting Date: May 20

Sixth Phase:

– States: To be announced

– Voting Date: May 25

Seventh Phase:

– States: To be announced

– Voting Date: June 1

Elections in Four States:

– Odisha: Nomination – To be announced

– Sikkim: To be announced

– Andhra Pradesh: Voting – May 13

– Arunachal Pradesh: Nomination – March 20, Voting – April 19

97 Crore Registered Voters Across the Country

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar mentioned that there are 97 crore registered voters in the country. Of these, 49.7 crore are male, 47.1 crore are female, and 48 thousand are transgender individuals. There are 1.8 crore first-time voters. There are more than 10.5 lakh polling centers. He also informed that in the Lok Sabha Election 2024, 55 lakh EVMs will be used.
