In a significant development, Arvind Kejriwal has withdrawn his petition from the Supreme Court regarding his arrest. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, informed the Supreme Court that Kejriwal is withdrawing the petition as it conflicts with the remand issue. It is also reported that Kejriwal will present his case in the lower court.

Prior to this, the Supreme Court had agreed to expedite the hearing on Kejriwal’s case. Last night, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Kejriwal’s residence and arrested him after a two-hour interrogation. While Aam Aadmi Party workers protested outside his residence, ED officials conducted searches inside. Additionally, significant evidence was reportedly found during the search, increasing concerns about Kejriwal’s involvement in the case.

Kejriwal is scheduled to appear before the PMLA court this afternoon at 2:30. During this time, the ED may seek a 10-day remand from the court for further interrogation. With the withdrawal of the petition from the Supreme Court, the case will soon be presented in the lower court for further proceedings. It is also noted that the ED has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court regarding the case.

Meanwhile, protests against the arrest have erupted, with Aam Aadmi Party leaders Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj also being detained.
