In Bihar, the Mahagathbandhan has finally concluded the division of the 40 Lok Sabha seats. The largest share has gone to the RJD. Out of the 40 seats, the RJD has secured a total of 26 seats, followed by nine seats for the Congress and five seats for left parties. The Congress and left parties did not receive any seats in the first phase. Recently, it was announced officially in a press conference at the RJD’s state office that the preferred candidates of Pappu Yadav, who recently joined the Congress, will also be RJD candidates in Purnia. Similarly, the seats of Supaul and Madhepura have also gone to the RJD.

The RJD will directly contest JDU on 12 seats and BJP on 10 seats. Upon examining the seat distribution lists of both alliances, it’s evident that on 12 seats out of 40, there will be a face-off between RJD and JDU, while on 10 seats, it will be between RJD and BJP candidates. On three seats, RJD will compete against candidates from Chirag Paswan’s party, LJP. Additionally, one seat will witness competition between RJD and the candidate from HAM. The Congress candidates will contest against BJP on five out of nine seats, against JDU on three seats, and against LJP’s Ramvilas Paswan on one seat. The third significant component of the Mahagathbandhan, CPI (ML), will engage in electoral battles against BJP, JDU, and Upendra Kushwaha on three separate seats. CPI (ML) will contest against BJP on one seat, while CPIM will compete against LJP’s Ramvilas Paswan on another seat.

RJD Secures 26 Lok Sabha Seats:

RJD has secured safe Lok Sabha seats in Gaya, Nawada, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Buxar, Patliputra, Munger, Jamui, Banka, Valmiki Nagar, East Champaran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Ujiarpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Madhepura, Purnia, Araria, and Hajipur.

Congress Receives Nine Seats:

The Congress party has been allotted seats in Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, West Champaran, Patna Sahib, Sasaram, and Maharajganj.

Five Lok Sabha Seats for Left Parties:

Bhakpa (ML) has received three seats, including Ara, Karakat, and Nalanda Lok Sabha constituencies. Additionally, Bhakpa (ML) has been handed over the assembly by-election seat of Agiyawans. CPIM has been allocated Begusarai Lok Sabha seat, while CPIML has been allotted the Khagaria Lok Sabha seat.
