Patna: The basic infrastructure work is being expedited in Bihar. Funds have been allocated for long-pending projects. The construction of six Road Over Bridges (ROBs) has been approved in the state, with a total budget of approximately 391 crores and 21 lakhs.
ROBs will be built in Patna, Aurangabad, Muzaffarpur, Lakhisarai, and Buxar districts. The aim is to ensure smooth vehicular movement by eliminating level crossings, which currently cause trains to halt. Once constructed, vehicles will not need to stop when trains pass through these locations.
The central government will also provide assistance for the construction of these ROBs. The state government has approved the budget for these projects, including the construction of approach roads along with the ROBs. For example, in Patna district, the construction of ROBs between Danapur and Phulwari Sharif railway stations will cost approximately 86 crores and 57 lakhs. Similarly, in Aurangabad district, the construction cost for ROBs between Newinagar and Kajarhat Nawadih railway stations is estimated at around 55 crores and 72 lakhs.
In Muzaffarpur district, ROBs will be constructed between Muzaffarpur-Narayanpur Anant railway stations, with an estimated cost of approximately 48 crores and 1 lakh 60 thousand rupees. In Lakhisarai district, the construction of ROBs between Kiul and Bansipur railway stations will cost around 67 crores and 29 lakhs.
Furthermore, in Buxar district, two ROBs will be constructed. Between Dumaraw and Varuna railway stations, the estimated cost is around 57 crores and 44 lakhs, while between Raghunathpur and Twiniganj railway stations, it’s approximately 76 crores and 18 lakhs.
These infrastructure developments aim to enhance transportation efficiency and safety in Bihar.
