Patna: With a decrease in pressure over West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar may witness scattered light showers in some regions. Particularly, there is a higher chance of rainfall in southwestern and south-central Bihar. However, over most parts of the state, clouds are expected to persist until April 14. According to IMD forecasts, the weather in Bihar will remain relatively stable around the average for the next few days, with no significant increase in temperature expected until April 14.
No Heatwave Threat Until April 14
As per the weather department, the ongoing active western disturbance since April 11 will continue to influence the weather pattern. Consequently, isolated showers and thunderstorms may occur in some areas. During this period, the wind speed is also anticipated to be higher than usual. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature across the state ranged between 33 to 38 degrees Celsius, with Sheikhpura and Aurangabad recording slightly higher temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. However, given the evolving weather conditions, there is currently no threat of a heatwave until April 14.
Maize Farmers May Opt for Irrigation
Dr. Sunil Kumar, the nodal officer of Bihar Agricultural Weather Service in BAU Sabour, mentioned that the sky is expected to remain clear during this period, with no immediate chances of rainfall. A dry and warm breeze is anticipated to continue, with an average wind speed of 3 to 6 kilometers per hour. Farmers are advised to irrigate their vegetable and maize crops as per necessity. Additionally, the harvesting of mature wheat crops should be expedited, and harvested crops should be stored in a safe place.
