Patna– The Department of Energy has sanctioned the establishment of new Power Sub Stations (PSS) in several districts, including the capital, Patna.
The initiative aims to enhance power supply quality and ensure uninterrupted service in these regions. The total investment for these substations will be Rs 101 crore.
New PSS will be constructed in Kankarbagh, Khagaul, and Bihta in Patna, as well as in Samastipur, Madhubani, Bettiah, Chhapra, Begusarai, and Kishanganj districts.
Each substation will be equipped with two 10 MVA power transformers.
GIS-Based Substations for PatnaPatna will see the development of Gas Insulated Sub Stations (GIS) at three locations:- Near Shri Ram School in Kankarbagh-2 at a cost of Rs 14.86 crore.- Near Bhagwatipur in Khagaul at a cost of Rs 14.01 crore.- In Simri and Panel of Bihta at a cost of Rs 12.76 crore.

Further PSS developments include:- Desari village in Vibhutipur block, Samastipur district: Rs 12.76 crore.- Ladniya block, Madhubani district: Rs 10.82 crore.- GMCH College campus, Bettiah Municipal Corporation: Rs 7.30 crore.- Jaiprakash College campus, Chhapra Sadar block: Rs 7.30 crore.- GD College campus, Begusarai Municipal Corporation: Rs 8.77 crore.- Damalbari village in Pethia block, Kishanganj district: Rs 8.02 crore.
An administrative approval of Rs 9.04 crore has also been granted for the construction of necessary power lines. Additionally, the department has allocated a token amount for all PSS projects in the current financial year.
