Renowned former India bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad recently voiced his concerns regarding the BCCI’s management of the World Cup scheduling and ticketing process. Prasad’s remarks, delivered through the platform ‘X,’ emphasized that his critique was not directed at any individual within the organization.

The BCCI, in collaboration with the ICC, rescheduled a total of nine matches for the upcoming World Cup, including the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash. This decision came in light of Navratri celebrations, necessitating an adjustment to the match dates.

Prasad, who is known for sharing his opinions on social media, stirred some attention with a tweet that initially alluded to corruption. He later revised the tweet to clarify his stance, noting that he referred to corruption in a broad sense across various aspects of life. Despite conjecture on social media, Prasad refrained from specifying any particular official as the target of his remarks.

In a subsequent interview, Prasad explained that his criticism was solely focused on ticketing and scheduling issues and not meant to be personal or directed towards any specific individual. He pointed out that the World Cup’s ticketing and scheduling aspects had drawn widespread dissatisfaction from fans and international friends.

While acknowledging the BCCI’s commendable efforts, such as equal pay for both men and women, Prasad underscored the need to address the concerns surrounding World Cup ticketing and scheduling. He emphasized the inconvenience and disappointment experienced by genuine cricket fans.

Prasad also addressed another tweet directed at fact-checker Mohammed Zubair, clarifying that it was a response to derogatory language used by Zubair. He firmly denied any intention of using it as a counterbalance to his criticism of the BCCI.

In conclusion, Venkatesh Prasad’s recent comments highlighted his concerns about the World Cup’s ticketing and scheduling process, stressing the importance of addressing these issues while acknowledging the BCCI’s positive initiatives in the world of cricket.
