In a significant development, the Bihar cabinet, under the stewardship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has granted its seal of approval for the recruitment of an impressive 69,692 educators within the state’s public school system. This decisive move is set to usher in a new era of educational excellence.

The responsibility of conducting this crucial recruitment drive will be entrusted to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), a body renowned for its meticulous selection processes. However, the initiation of this recruitment endeavor hinges upon the completion of the ongoing recruitment of an astounding 1.70 lakh teachers by the BPSC.

Furthermore, the cabinet has exhibited its commitment to the welfare of educators by authorizing a remarkable 100% increase in the monthly honorarium for approximately 30,000 ‘Siksha Sewaks’ and 10,000 ‘Vikas Mitras’ currently engaged in the state’s educational landscape.

Underlining this financial boost, Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) S Siddharth elucidated that approximately 9,825 ‘Vikas Mitras’ working within the purview of the SC and ST Welfare Department in the state’s panchayats will now enjoy a monthly honorarium exceeding Rs 25,000, a substantial augmentation from the previous Rs 13,700. Additionally, they will be entitled to an annual increment of 5%.

The dedicated ‘Vikas Mitras’ play a pivotal role in implementing diverse developmental and welfare initiatives, primarily in the rural domains of the state. As for ‘Shiksha Sewaks,’ their monthly honorarium is set to escalate to Rs 22,000, an impressive leap from the previous Rs 11,000, coupled with an annual increment of 5%.

This commendable decision reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the educational landscape in Bihar and providing due recognition to the diligent educators who shape the future of the state’s youth.

In conclusion, the Bihar cabinet’s resounding endorsement of these sweeping educational reforms serves as a testament to its dedication to quality education and the welfare of its teaching workforce, heralding a brighter future for the state’s students and educators alike.
