In a significant move towards sustainable practices, Adani Total Gas, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shigan Quantum Technologies Limited. The collaboration aims to decarbonise supply chains and revolutionize transportation through the adoption of natural gas.

The partnership primarily focuses on embracing natural gas for transportation and mining applications, introducing sustainable solutions for fleet operators. This initiative will target various sectors, including cement, ports, and logistics, with a commitment to reducing carbon footprints.

Shigan Quantum Technologies Limited, established in 2005, brings a wealth of expertise in alternative fuel-system technologies. Their portfolio includes hybrid electric drive systems, hydrogen storage and meeting systems, and alternative fuel technologies designed for fuel-efficient, low-emission, and hybrid vehicles.

As part of the agreement, traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles will undergo retrofitting to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Additionally, the collaboration will explore and develop e-mobility solutions for last-mile delivery services and investigate the viability of green hydrogen as a fuel for ICE vehicles.

Expressing optimism about the collaboration, Adani Total Gas CEO Suresh Manglani highlighted the shared vision for a greener and more sustainable future. The partnership aims to co-develop end-to-end solutions that support the transport and mining industries in their journey towards decarbonization, aligning with the country’s net-zero commitments.

In the trading session, Adani Total Gas witnessed a 10 percent surge, settling at Rs 1,100.95 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The positive market response indicates investor confidence in the company’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable practices.

The Adani Total Gas and Shigan partnership marks a significant stride in promoting cleaner and greener transportation solutions, contributing to India’s sustainability goals. The focus on alternative fuels and innovative technologies aligns with the global shift towards environmentally conscious practices.
