The recent assembly elections favored the BJP, with a sweeping victory in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. JD(U) MP Sunil Kumar Pintu praised PM Modi, triggering a sharp response from his party’s leadership, urging his resignation. The BJP supported Pintu’s statement, emphasizing the current political landscape.
In an unexpected move, JD(U) MP Sunil Kumar Pintu from Bihar’s Sitamarhi constituency praised PM Modi for BJP’s assembly poll success. This gesture, however, led to a strong rebuke from JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj, who called for Pintu’s resignation.
“If he is so influenced, he should resign from Parliament before the Lok Sabha polls are held. He should take a decision as soon as possible,” Kumar stated.
The BJP supported Pintu’s statement, with spokesperson Kuntal Krishna noting, “The statement given by the JD(U) MP that ‘Modi hai toh mumkin hai’ shows that every person understands what the situation is right now.”
JD(U), once a key ally of the BJP-led NDA, severed ties last year. Nitish Kumar’s relationship with the saffron party has been characterized by on-and-off alliances, marked by shifts in 2013, 2017, and 2022.
