Patna: In a brazen daylight robbery in Bihar’s Siwan district, a gang of six masked and armed men stormed Krishna Jewellers on Thursday, making off with cash and ornaments worth approximately ₹1 crore, local police said.

The entire sequence of events was captured on the shop’s CCTV cameras, footage of which later circulated widely on social media and messaging platforms.

According to authorities, the robbers entered the premises with pistols drawn, brandishing their weapons at staff and bystanders while ordering everyone to step back. They then proceeded to empty display cases and safes before fleeing the scene on motorcycles. Witnesses reported that the assailants fired five to six rounds in the air while escaping, triggering panic in the busy market area.

The outlet, which falls under Raghunathpur police station limits, was targeted despite being located in a crowded commercial locality. Police said the robbers overpowered the staff within minutes and decamped before any effective intervention was possible.

Senior officers have seized the CCTV recordings and formed special teams to analyse the footage in an effort to identify and trace the suspects. Raids are underway in Siwan and neighbouring districts.

Robberies targeting high-value jewellery stores have seen a marked uptick in parts of Bihar over the past year, with criminal gangs increasingly resorting to firearms and planned hit-and-run operations. Thursday’s incident is among the largest by value reported from the state in recent months.Investigation is ongoing.
