Patna: In a significant update, the Education Department has rescheduled the meeting of Vice-Chancellors, Secretaries, and Exam Controllers of universities that was initially scheduled for this Saturday. The new date for this crucial meeting is now March 15, 2024.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellors were informed through telecommunication that the meeting, originally planned for March 9, would not take place. The official information about rescheduling the meeting to March 15 has been conveyed to all Vice-Chancellors by Rekha Kumari, Director of Higher Education in the Education Department.
This meeting, now scheduled for March 15 at 12 noon, is vital for reviewing pending examinations in universities. Previously, the Education Department had called a meeting of Vice-Chancellors, Secretaries, and Exam Controllers on February 28 to discuss examination results. However, the meeting was not held, and a directive was issued to stop the salaries of Vice-Chancellors, Secretaries, and Exam Controllers, along with freezing the operational funds of all universities, until further notice.
Amidst these developments, it remains to be seen whether Vice-Chancellors will be granted permission to participate in the meeting on March 15, given the earlier directive to halt their involvement. The understanding between the Education Department and the Governor’s House seems to have evolved, potentially allowing Vice-Chancellors to participate in the meeting on March 15.
