In a substantial development for Bihar’s Seemanchal region, a substantial investment of Rs 1131 Crore has been allocated for the construction of three new state highways. This vital infrastructure initiative is poised to have a transformative impact on transportation and connectivity in the area.

The extensive network of roads, currently underway in Purnia district, is accompanied by simultaneous progress on six national highway projects. These projects have been expedited to ensure swift completion, adhering to the stipulated timelines, under the diligent supervision of the Bihar State Road Development Corporation.

The foremost among these projects is the expansion of the Bayasi-Bahadurganj-Digarbank Expressway, which commands a budget of Rs 602.24 Crore. This expressway, spanning approximately 65.35 kilometers, is projected to be finalized by January 10, 2026. Its significance lies in facilitating seamless transportation all the way to the Nepal border.

Additionally, two other critical projects, namely the Manjwe-Gobindpur and Bettiah-Narkatiyaganj highways, will be undertaken at a cost of Rs 53 Crore. The State Road 103, covering about 42 kilometers from Manjwe to Gobindpur in Nawada district, is anticipated to reach completion by 2025. Simultaneously, in the West Champaran region, a 35.7-kilometer stretch will be constructed, connecting to SH 105 Batia-Barkatiaganj border, at an estimated cost of 317.26 Crore.

An essential aspect of these projects is the standardization of the highway width to 10 meters, a significant improvement from the previous 3-4 meter width. This expansion has necessitated various processes, including land acquisition, to facilitate the infrastructure enhancement.

This development marks a pivotal moment for Bihar’s infrastructure landscape, promising improved connectivity and ease of transportation for the region’s residents. It aligns with the state’s commitment to bolstering its infrastructure network for the benefit of its citizens.
