New Delhi, In a strategic move, global furniture retailer IKEA has disclosed its detailed plan for Gurugram, revealing intentions to initiate online product deliveries in the coming year, followed by the establishment of an offline store in the prosperous Haryana city within two years. Susanne Pulverer, IKEA’s CEO for India, shared this insight during an interview.

Gurugram, known for its economic prosperity, will become the first city in North India to benefit from IKEA’s online delivery services. Currently, the Swedish giant provides product deliveries in cities such as Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara.

The company, which already boasts five stores across India, including one in Hitech City on the outskirts of Hyderabad, has announced plans for two additional stores in Delhi and its neighboring areas.

Susanne Pulverer stated, “We are looking to open the offline store within the next two years and online sales in the next one year.” While the timeline for the Noida store remains undisclosed, the company is gearing up to enable e-commerce in locations where physical stores are present.

Moreover, IKEA is committed to increasing its sourcing of products from within India, underscoring the nation’s importance as one of the company’s priority markets globally. Currently, IKEA procures 30 percent of its products from India.
