In a landscape dominated by the Information Technology sector, Thierry Delaporte, CEO of Wipro, has secured the position of the highest-paid CEO in India. As per the company filings for FY23, Delaporte’s staggering salary package surpasses that of executives in other leading IT firms.

Thierry Delaporte, 56, who assumed the role of CEO and Managing Director at Wipro in July 2020, commands an annual compensation of over ₹82 crores. This places him ahead of CEOs from prominent IT companies like HCL Technologies and TCS.

Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, secured the second position on the list with a salary package of ₹56.45 crores. Tech Mahindra’s CEO, CP Gurnani, follows with a total compensation of ₹30 crores, while former TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinath earned over ₹29 crores in FY23.

Notably, founders of Zerodha, Nithin Kamath, and Nikhil Kamath, claimed the title of the highest-paid CEO and director in a startup firm. Despite drawing a salary of ₹72 crores each, Kamath clarified that their actual take-home pay is considerably less than the reported compensation.

About Thierry Delaporte:

Thierry Delaporte, a seasoned professional with three decades of experience in the global IT sector, currently helms Wipro, a leading tech giant valued at over ₹93,400 crores. Before assuming his role at Wipro, Delaporte served as the Chief Operating Officer at Capgemini, a prominent French IT firm.

Wipro, founded in 1945 by Mohamed Premji, witnessed a change in leadership when Azim Premji, an Indian billionaire and philanthropist, took over after the founder’s demise. Azim Premji currently serves as a non-executive member of the board.
