COVID-19 cases are once again on the rise in Bihar, with Patna reporting 15 new cases in a single day. After a lull of about one and a half months, identified cases of COVID-infected patients have emerged. The signs of infection have been observed in more than a dozen patients, causing concern in the health authorities. Within 24 hours, Patna district has identified 15 new COVID patients. This marks the confirmation of COVID in 15 individuals in the district simultaneously after a gap of about one and a half months. Patients from urban areas of Patna, along with those from Dulhinbazar, Sambalpur, Daniyawa, Mokama, Fatuha, Athmalgola, and Paliiganj, are included. Currently, doctors assure that all patients are stable and undergoing treatment through home isolation.

Dr. Shravan Kumar, the Civil Surgeon of Patna, mentioned that individuals with fever, cold, and cough symptoms underwent COVID testing, confirming positive results. The samples of infected patients have been sent for genome sequencing to AIIMS, and results are awaited. Details regarding the travel history of all patients are being recorded. An alert has been issued for the area where the infected individuals reside.
COVID-Infected Child’s Death in Rohtas
According to media reports, a COVID-infected child succumbed to the illness in Rohtas district. The child had recently arrived in Bihar from Delhi with family. Due to deteriorating health, the child was admitted to a medical college hospital, where unfortunately, the child’s condition worsened, leading to the tragic outcome. The family is devastated by the loss.
