CPIM Manifesto: Communist Party promises to repeal UAPA, PMLA, and CAA

CPIM Manifesto: CPI(M) leaders Brinda Karat, Sitaram Yechury, and Prakash Karat released the party’s manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections. The CPIM appeals to voters to defeat the BJP, strengthen the Left, and ensure the formation of an alternative secular government at the center. The party promises to fight fiercely for the principle that religion is separate from politics. The manifesto states that the CPIM is committed to abolishing all harsh laws such as UAPA and PMLA.

Sitaram Yechury Calls for Formation of Alternative Secular Government

Sitaram Yechury, the General Secretary of the CPIM, appealed to Indian voters, saying, “Our appeal to the electorate of India is that the Secular, Democratic Republic of India is facing an existential threat today, and our main task is to defend the character of the Indian Republic as per the Constitution.” He further stated, “We appeal to voters to defeat the BJP and its allies.” He also urged to increase the seats of CPIM and Left parties in Parliament and ensure the formation of an alternative secular government at the center.

Commitment to Repeal Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) stated that it would fight against hate speech and crimes and is committed to repealing the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.

Budget Allocation for MGNREGA to be Doubled

The CPIM promised to introduce a law to levy taxes on the wealthiest class and on inheritance. The Left party also said that the budget allocation for MGNREGA should be doubled, and a new law guaranteeing urban employment should be enacted.

Election for the 18th Lok Sabha to Commence from April 19

The Lok Sabha elections for the 18th Lok Sabha are set to begin on April 19 in the country. Subsequently, voting will take place in six more phases on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. Vote counting will take place on June 4.
