Hindon Airbase, India – In a momentous event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the grand “Bharat Drone Shakti 2023” exhibition at the Hindon airbase today. This spectacular showcase of cutting-edge drone technologies is a result of a collaborative effort between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Drone Federation of India (DFI).

During the inauguration ceremony, the distinguished Defence Minister personally opened the exhibition, which featured captivating aerial drone demonstrations that left spectators in awe. Mr. Singh also took the opportunity to explore the exhibition area, paying visits to various stalls.

According to sources from the Drone Federation of India, an impressive lineup of approximately 75 drones graced the static display, with more than 50 poised to dazzle the audience in aerial displays throughout the duration of the event.

Notably, Mr. Rajnath Singh marked the occasion by formally inducting the C-295 transport aircraft into the Indian Air Force, a significant development celebrated in the presence of top military officials, including IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari.

The Indian Air Force, recognizing the immense potential of indigenous drone development, has joined forces with the Drone Federation of India to co-host this remarkable event. The utilization of drone technology has ushered in a transformative era across both civil and defence sectors, enhancing operational efficiency, minimizing risk exposure, and elevating overall capabilities, as emphasized in a press release.

The IAF has a distinguished history of utilizing Remotely Piloted Aircraft for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions. In a clear demonstration of their confidence in India’s burgeoning drone capabilities, the IAF initiated the Meher Baba Swarm Drone competition. With the launch of Bharat Drone Shakti 2023, the IAF is poised to build upon its existing expertise and fully harness the potential of drone technology.

The drone demonstrations encompass a wide spectrum of applications, ranging from survey drones and agriculture drones to fire suppression drones, tactical surveillance drones, heavy-lift logistics drones, loitering munition systems, drone swarms, and counter-drone solutions, as per the official release.

This event marks a significant stride in India’s journey towards achieving excellence in drone technology, and the collaborative efforts of the Indian Air Force and the Drone Federation of India promise to usher in a new era of innovation and advancement in this field.
