New Delhi, India: Delhi’s Karkardooma Court has made a significant decision in the North-east Delhi riots conspiracy case, stating that daily hearings will commence from September 11. Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat has ordered all 20 accused persons, including prominent names like Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, and Natasha Narwal, to appear physically before the Court starting from the next date of hearing.
Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Amit Prasad is scheduled to present his arguments on September 11, following which the counsel for the accused will make their submissions. The case involves issues relating to framing charges against the accused individuals.
In a recent order, the Court emphasized the completion of compliance under Section 207 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) for all the charge-sheeted accused persons. It has, therefore, fixed September 11 as the starting date for day-to-day hearings on the charge framing matter.
Furthermore, the Court mandated the presence of the Investigating Officer (IO) concerned during the next date of hearing. It also directed that a copy of the order be sent to the respective Jail Superintendent to ensure compliance and information dissemination.
The North-east Delhi riots conspiracy case has drawn significant public attention, and the upcoming hearings are expected to be closely watched. The case includes individuals accused of various charges in connection with the violent incidents that occurred in the region.
