In a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, concerns have been raised about the behavior of entrepreneur Elon Musk, particularly regarding his alleged use of drugs. According to unidentified sources familiar with Musk and his companies, executives and board members are worried about ongoing drug use, including the consumption of ketamine.
The report suggests that Musk has used various substances such as LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms, often at private parties. Elon Musk, who mentioned having a prescription for ketamine as an antidepressant in August last year, has his lawyer stating that he is “regularly and randomly drug tested at SpaceX and has never failed a test.”
Elon Musk’s public use of marijuana in September 2018, with podcaster Joe Rogan, led to a review of his federal security clearance tied to his role as CEO of Space Exploration Technologies Corp by the Pentagon.
Responding to the article on X (formerly Twitter), Musk stated, “After that one puff with Rogan, I agreed, at NASA’s request, to do 3 years of random drug testing. Not even trace quantities were found of any drugs or alcohol.”
The report also claims that Linda Johnson Rice, a Tesla director since 2017, did not stand for reelection due to frustration with Musk’s behavior and alleged drug use.
Elon Musk oversees six companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), The Boring Co., Neuralink, and xAI. The concerns about Musk’s behavior and drug use add a layer of scrutiny to the entrepreneur’s high-profile ventures.
