In a high-level international summit, Union Minister Piyush Goyal advocates for a concerted global strategy in addressing climate challenges, emphasizing the need to view climate action as a catalyst for innovation and economic growth. Goyal highlights India’s remarkable achievement of surpassing its ambitious target of 175 gigawatts in renewable energy well ahead of schedule, signaling the nation’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship. The minister calls upon world leaders to unite in constructing a sustainable future, where climate action becomes an opportunity rather than a burden. Goyal’s insights were shared during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Informal Leader’s Dialogue, alongside his participation in key economic forums such as the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Leader’s Meeting and the Investor Forum of the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII). The discussions at these forums centered on enhancing economic cooperation, investment, and collaborative actions to increase private investment in the Indo-Pacific region. Various agreements, including a supply chain agreement to boost investment in clean economies, were ratified, underlining a collective commitment to fostering a clean and fair economic landscape in the Indo-Pacific.
