New Delhi, In a strong response to the recent tax raids at the premises of Congress leader Dheeraj Sahu in Odisha and Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party. The Income Tax Department seized over Rs 100 crore in cash during the ongoing raids, marking one of the largest cash seizures in Odisha, according to former IT commissioner Sarat Chandra Dash.

Prime Minister Modi, addressing the nation, stated, “The countrymen should look at the pile of these notes and then listen to the honest ‘speeches’ of their leaders.” He assured the public, saying, “Whatever has been looted from the public, every penny will have to be returned, this is Modi’s guarantee.”

The Income Tax Department initiated the raids on December 6, and as of the latest reports, they are still ongoing. The cash seizures were linked to Boudh Distillery Private Limited in Odisha.

Former IT commissioner Sarat Chandra Dash expressed astonishment at the scale of the cash seizure, labeling it as possibly the largest in Odisha’s history. More than 150 bags containing cash were reportedly recovered during the raid at Sudapada in Bolangir district.

The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to addressing corruption and ensuring accountability for any misappropriation of public funds. The situation continues to unfold as the tax raids persist.
