Mumbai: A significant three-day G20 summit focusing on financial inclusion is set to commence in the bustling city of Mumbai today, as announced in an official statement yesterday.

The fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) is expected to convene an esteemed assembly of over 50 representatives hailing from G20 member nations, special invitee countries, and prominent international organizations, as outlined in the statement. The event aims to facilitate deliberations concerning the ongoing initiatives within the financial inclusion spectrum, aligning with the G20 India Presidency’s overarching agenda. Specific areas of discussion will encompass digital financial inclusion and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) finance.

In anticipation of the summit, a symposium focusing on “Digital Public Infrastructure for Energizing Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)” is scheduled for September 14. Furthermore, on September 16, a symposium dedicated to “Advancing Financial Inclusion through Digital Public Infrastructure: Empowering Consumers through Digital and Financial Literacy and Consumer Protection” will provide a platform for thought leaders and experts to share insights and strategies.
