Beirut- Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amirabdollahian, issued a stern warning today, stating that if Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza persists, the conflict may spill over into “other fronts.” This implicit reference alludes to the involvement of the Lebanese militant group, Hezbollah.
Amirabdollahian’s arrival in Beirut on Thursday evening was met with representatives from Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Lebanese officials, signifying regional solidarity.
Speaking to journalists upon his arrival, Amirabdollahian asserted, “In light of the continued aggression, war crimes, and siege on Gaza, opening other fronts is a real possibility.”
Earlier on Thursday, during his visit to Iraq, similar statements were made after a meeting with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
Questions have arisen regarding Iran’s role in the recent surprise attack by Hamas on Israel. While Hamas officials deny direct Iranian involvement, no concrete evidence has been presented to confirm Iran’s orchestration of the attack. Nevertheless, Iran’s long history of supporting Hamas, including training, funding, and weapons supply, has drawn international attention.
As the situation in the region remains tense, the possibility of broader conflict looms, threatening stability in the Middle East.
