Islamabad: A speeding vehicle from Pakistan’s Punjab state Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s motorcade was allegedly involved in a fatal accident on Thursday at the in Narowal resulting in the death of a motorcyclist.

The Chief Minister was en route to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur to partake in the three-day celebrations of the Baisakhi festival. As her motorcade traveled from Narowal to Kartarpur, an Elite Force vehicle collided with a motorcyclist, identified as 23-year-old Abubakar from Jassar town, Lahore who tragically lost his life on the spot.

Despite the incident, the CM’s motorcade reportedly did not halt to provide assistance to the injured victim. Abubakar’s cousin, Ali Rizwan, lamented the lack of intervention from officials and the disregard for Abubakar’s well-being.

Abubakar’s grieving mother, Arifa Bibi, demanded justice from CM Maryam Nawaz, urging for the responsible party to be held accountable and arrested.

Abubakar’s father, Fakhar Ayaz, was overwhelmed with shock and had to be hospitalized at the District Headquarters Hospital, Narowal.
