In a rallying cry for change, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari asserted that Pakistan must move beyond the “business as usual” politics. Speaking after a Lahore rally, he expressed gratitude to supporters enduring the cold, emphasizing the need to break from divisive politics and the privileged benefiting at the expense of the poor.

Bilawal declared, “No more politics of division and hatred. No more backroom deals suppressing the will of the people. Together, we can usher in a new dawn for Pakistan that works for everyone.” The former foreign minister and PPP’s prime ministerial candidate emphasized the necessity for power to flow from the people.

Addressing the Lahore crowd, he pledged a robust PPP challenge in NA-125, historically won by PML-N. Bilawal urged PPP workers to reject mudslinging politics and instead convey the party’s manifesto and vision to Punjab.

Calling for round-the-clock efforts, he stated, “Convince Raiwind and Punjab that only the PPP can represent the common folk, the poor, and the farmers in government.” Bilawal reiterated the PPP’s commitment to free healthcare, contrasting it with what he labeled as empty promises from PML-N and PTI.

Highlighting PPP’s healthcare achievements in Sindh, Bilawal assured the crowd, “Next time there’s chest pain – and it will happen on February 8 – we’re building a free hospital here for you.” The statement appeared to be a dig at PML-N’s Nawaz Sharif, implying a contrast between PPP’s commitment to local healthcare and alleged overseas medical retreats by political rivals.
