During a school inspection on Monday in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, a heated altercation erupted between teachers and the District Education Officer (DEO), Ajay Singh, and the school principal, Rakesh Kumar. The confrontation escalated into a physical brawl, resulting in injuries to both parties.

The incident unfolded at the Karamchand Rampur Balda Madhyamik Vidyalaya in the Akhtiyarpur Pariya Panchayat under the Khudhni block of Muzaffarpur district. The clash occurred around 3:00 PM during an inspection, leading to a vigorous exchange of blows and kicks between the DEO and the principal. The violent confrontation left both individuals injured, sparking chaos among school children and staff members.

Police Probe into the Matter

Upon receiving information about the altercation, the Khudhni police promptly reached the scene to investigate the incident. However, by the time the police arrived, both the injured principal and the DEO had left for medical treatment. The police are conducting an inquiry into the matter, and further action will be taken based on their findings.

Principal’s Account of the Incident

Rakesh Kumar, the injured principal, shared details of the incident over the phone, stating that he had arrived with DEO Ajay Singh for an inspection at around 3:00 PM. After inspecting all the students in the classroom, he and the DEO sat down in the principal’s office. During this time, allegations were made against him regarding the presence of students, vandalism, and other accusations.

When he explained the school’s expenses for development to Ajay Singh, the DEO became agitated and physically attacked him, causing injuries to his face and nose with a stamp pad placed on the table. The situation escalated further as others joined in, resulting in injuries to both the principal and DEO. The DEO, in a fit of anger, lost balance and collided with the glass top of the table, sustaining partial injuries. Additionally, all three individuals were subjected to further physical assault with an iron mic stand.

It’s important to note that investigations are ongoing, and the police will take appropriate action based on the evidence collected.
