Bihar is bracing for another change in weather as active western disturbances in the western Himalayan region and the formation of low-pressure areas in eastern India are expected to bring rain from March 19 to 21. The Indian Meteorological Department, Patna, has specifically warned of thunderstorms and lightning in southern Bihar. The public has been cautioned with a yellow alert across the state. The anticipated rainfall is attributed to the pre-monsoon period, with events such as storms likely to increase.
According to IMD’s official information, rain is expected in all districts of North-East Bihar, South-West Bihar, South Central Bihar, and South-East Bihar on March 19. On March 20 and 21, light to moderate rain is expected in almost all districts of the state. IMD specialists suggest that Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Jehanabad, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Munger, and Khagaria districts could be most affected by the rain.
The rain spell is forecasted to continue until March 23, with a slight decrease in intensity. Vaishali remained the hottest city in the state on Sunday, with a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius recorded. However, the average maximum temperature across the state was recorded at 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature remains above normal.
