In a significant move to counter the surge in cyber fraud cases, the Haryana Police, under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur, has identified 50 hotspots across seven states as the epicenters of these criminal activities. Rajasthan emerges as the primary hub with 21 identified hotspots, showcasing the widespread nature of cyber threats.

Director General Kapur outlined the collaborative efforts being undertaken to tackle this issue effectively. Nodal officers from banks are working closely with the cyber helpline team to freeze the finances of cybercriminals within the critical first hour of reported incidents. This proactive approach involves a synchronized effort to ensure swift action against those engaged in fraudulent activities.

The DGP, in his statement, stressed the importance of public vigilance in the face of rising cyber threats. He cautioned against clicking on suspicious links and urged individuals to refrain from disclosing personal banking information. Even a minor oversight, he warned, could render individuals vulnerable to cyber fraud.

This initiative marks a crucial step in addressing the evolving landscape of cybercrime, and further updates on this cybersecurity endeavor will be provided as the situation develops.
