In a notable revelation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP), Nishikant Dubey, has raised concerns regarding the financial dealings of Congress party legislators in his constituency with Adani Group enterprises. He pondered whether the Congress’s vocal opposition to this corporate entity constitutes a method of extortion or a strategic pressure tactic.
In a post shared on a prominent social media platform, Mr. Dubey presented images of plaques, inscribed in Hindi, denoting various projects attributed to Adani Power, purportedly facilitated on the recommendation of Deepika Pandey Singh, the Congress MLA representing Mahagama in the state of Jharkhand. Notably, Mr. Dubey represents the Lok Sabha constituency of Godda in Jharkhand.
Mr. Dubey also called attention to Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav, who serves in the Poraiyahat constituency, asserting that he engages in similar practices. It’s important to mention that both the Mahagama and Poraiyahat assembly constituencies fall under the purview of the Godda Lok Sabha seat.
In a communication directed to former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Dubey raised the possibility that the Congress’s opposition to the Adani Group may be a calculated strategy of extortion or exerting pressure. He pointed out the financial transactions undertaken by Congress MLAs Deepika Pandey Singh and Pradeep Yadav, who, in various instances, have received funds from Adani Group and actively promoted the conglomerate. Such duplicity, he emphasized, is an ethical lapse that merits scrutiny and correction.
The images accompanying Mr. Dubey’s post showcase projects ranging from pools to temples, all bearing plaques acknowledging the contributions of Adani Power and MLA Singh. This revelation underscores the ongoing discourse regarding the Adani Group’s involvement in Congress-ruled regions.
It is worth noting that the BJP has previously highlighted Adani Group projects within Congress-governed territories. In response to Rahul Gandhi’s assertion, citing a Financial Times report, that the Adani Group was culpable for escalating electricity prices, the BJP’s National Information Department In-Charge, Amit Malviya, challenged Gandhi to take action against the conglomerate in Congress-ruled states.
“Adani has ventured into power projects in Congress-governed states such as Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Chattisgarh, among others. Now that Rahul Gandhi has identified the underlying reasons for the need to provide ‘subsidies’ in these states, he should ensure that Congress governments hold Adani accountable rather than shielding the entity. It’s time for him to turn words into actions,” Mr. Malviya conveyed through social media.
This development highlights the growing discussion around Adani Group’s endeavors within Congress-administered regions and the perceived motivations behind Congress’s public stance on the conglomerate’s operations.
