In a visionary move, Bihar is all set to revolutionize the electric vehicle landscape by inviting private individuals to join the green wave. The state government is offering enticing grants to fuel the establishment of electric charging stations, both for public use and private ventures. This groundbreaking initiative extends a helping hand to both government and private landowners, with a generous plan to provide up to 50% funding for charging stations’ setup.

Private pioneers can now lease government land for the installation of these charging havens, as long as they adhere to the comprehensive guidelines laid out by the department. To sweeten the deal, generous incentives are in place for those who bring these charging stations to life within three years from the publication date of the official notification.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there! The eligibility criteria for private charging stations on government land include leasing arrangements and strict adherence to specific guidelines. Furthermore, residential buildings looking to become part of this green revolution must ensure they provide ample parking space, complete with a minimum of five designated spots exclusively for electric vehicle charging. The incentives are exclusively reserved for chargers meeting the specifications of the prestigious Bharat EV Charger.

the government has outlined a game-changing arrangement to boost the electric vehicle charging infrastructure, subsidies ranging from a whopping 75% to a full 100% of the equipment cost, up to a maximum of INR 50,000, are up for grabs for AC chargers (three pins). Similar jaw-dropping incentives, reaching up to INR 1.5 lakh, are waiting for AC chargers (two pins). And brace yourself – CCS chargers (two guns) could snag subsidies soaring up to INR 10 lakh for the first 60 chargers!

Thirteen departments, including the power-packed ensemble of Public Works, NHAI, Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation, Road Development Corporation, Building Construction, North and South Bihar Power Distribution Company, Patna Municipal Corporation, and the Industrial Sector, are all set to play crucial roles in making the charging station dream a reality.

This isn’t just a plan; it’s a three-year electric odyssey! And to add to the excitement, these incentives are just waiting for trailblazers who align with cabinet decisions and consult with relevant departments. It’s time for Bihar to shine on the electric highway!
