In a startling turn of events, a Hindu nationalist outfit has stirred controversy by announcing a ₹10 lakh cash reward for anyone willing to chop off the tongue of controversial RJD MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh. The MLA recently advocated for replacing images of Hindu goddess Saraswati with those of 19th-century social reformer Savitribai Phule in educational institutions.

The Hindu Shivbhavani Sena, through a poster in the state capital, accused the RJD lawmaker of insulting Goddess Saraswati and asserted their reward for such an act. Singh, however, remains undeterred, stating that he will continue his campaign against prevalent superstitions in society.

The poster, prominently displayed, not only targeted Singh but also blamed Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for the controversy, alleging silence over the MLA’s remarks, which the Sena deemed as defamatory to Hindu deities.

Singh courted controversy by suggesting the removal of Saraswati’s images from educational institutions, sparking a heated debate. Despite threats and accusations, the MLA remains resolute in his mission to raise awareness about the importance of education, emphasizing his dedication to educating the poor and socially-backward castes.

As the tension escalates, the controversy sheds light on the intersection of religious sentiments and freedom of expression in the public sphere.
