Patna: At the ‘Bihar Business Connect 2023’ event, distinguished personalities in Information Technology (IT), semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI) emphasized the need for a positive transformation of Bihar’s image. The call for a makeover aims to generate employment opportunities and retain local talents who often migrate to larger cities for career prospects.

Mahesh Kumar, CEO of Tiger Analytics and a Bhagalpur native, highlighted the challenge of brain drain, where talented IT professionals from Bihar relocate to cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Tiger Analytics, a global firm with over 10,000 employees in 10 countries, is set to open its first office in Patna on December 15 to address this concern.

Hansmukh Ranjan, CIO and SVP of AMD, shared his experience of efforts to establish an office in Bihar. Having grown up in Patna, Ranjan acknowledged recent positive developments in the semiconductor industry in the state.

Prashant Kumar, global head of AI at Accenture and a Saharsa native, emphasized the need for a strategic reevaluation of Bihar’s image. He stressed that this transformation should resonate in boardrooms across major corporations globally and within the country.

Dheeraj Pandey, founder of Nutanix and CEO of DevRev, a Patna native, expressed optimism about Bihar becoming a hub of innovation over the next 10-15 years, leveraging its substantial population of 130 million.
