The government has unveiled its agenda for the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament, listing 18 bills that are set to be presented during the session commencing on December 4 and concluding on December 22.

Among the key bills is a proposal to extend the provisions of the women’s reservation act to Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry. Additionally, three bills are slated to replace existing criminal laws. A significant move includes a bill aiming to increase the strength of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly from 107 to 114. This initiative is geared towards ensuring representation for Kashmiri migrants, displaced persons from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and Scheduled Tribes.

In conjunction with the bills, the government has outlined the first batch of supplementary demands for grants for the fiscal year 2023-24. These grants are scheduled for presentation, discussion, and voting during the Winter Session.
