Patna, In a recent advertisement by Bihar’s tourism department, a typo has fueled a heated exchange between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nitish Kumar-led government.
The ad, aimed at soliciting entries for a content writing competition, inadvertently featured the word “writting” instead of “writing.”
BJP’s OBC Morcha national general secretary, Nikhil Anand, labeled the mistake as evidence that an “illiterate and irresponsible” administration is governing Bihar’s Mahagathbandhan government, a sentiment echoed by the party.
Tejashwi Yadav, the Tourism Minister, and a prominent figure in the state’s government did not immediately respond to the issue.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) dismissed the matter as “TEJASHWI-PHOBIA,” attributing it to the BJP’s discomfort with Yadav’s leadership.
Mrityunjay Tiwari, RJD spokesperson, defended Yadav and accused the BJP of engaging in nitpicking rather than addressing substantial political concerns.
The Janata Dal (United) criticized the BJP’s focus on the mistake, suggesting it was a diversion from more significant political issues.
The Bihar tourism department promptly acknowledged the error, rectifying digital versions of the ad on its official social media platforms.
Public Relations Officer Ravishankar Upadhyay assured that an internal investigation is underway to determine the cause of the error, with strict measures promised against those found responsible.
