Patna – A political firestorm has erupted in Bihar, with the ruling BJP and the JD(U) engaged in a fierce verbal duel. The spark was ignited when Samrat Choudhary, the state president of the BJP, posted an animated representation on social media during Vijayadashmi. This depiction portrayed RJD leader Lalu Prasad as the mythological character “Ravana,” his son and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav as “Meghnad,” and the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as “Kumbhakaran.” This visual representation triggered strong protests from the ruling Grand Alliance.

In response, the JD(U), represented by state spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar, likened Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to a “time bomb.” According to Neeraj Kumar, Nitish Kumar’s political influence will disrupt the BJP’s plans for the 2024 elections. This comment drew sharp reactions from the BJP.

State BJP president Samrat Choudhary expressed his bewilderment, stating, “It’s peculiar that Nitish Kumar, a member of JD(U), has been portrayed as a ‘suicide bomber.’ The Chief Minister should issue an official statement addressing this comment.” Choudhary further emphasized that nothing could be more astonishing than the transformation of Nitish Kumar from a Chief Minister to a “suicide bomber.”

In a frontal attack on Nitish Kumar, BJP spokesperson Arvind Singh urged the public to exercise caution, stating that “Nitish has metamorphosed into a political ‘suicide bomber’.”

The controversy escalated when Neeraj Kumar posted an animation in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, symbolically represented as “Ravana,” is depicted being struck by the “Nitish Bomb.” Although this animation was intended to counter Samrat Choudhary’s comments on the Grand Alliance leaders, it has snowballed into a major political dispute.

Notably, the BJP swiftly launched counterattacks on the JD(U) following Neeraj Kumar’s “time bomb” statement, amplifying the political tension. The JD(U) also faced criticism for referring to the Chief Minister as a “time bomb.”

Rajib Ranjan, the JD(U) national spokesperson, defended Nitish Kumar’s intentions, stating that Nitish Kumar cannot be a “time bomb.” He emphasized the Chief Minister’s primary focus on “development with justice” and questioned the depiction of Nitish Kumar as a “time bomb.”

This ongoing political feud has raised questions about the stability of the Grand Alliance and the BJP’s electoral strategies, setting the stage for a politically charged atmosphere in Bihar.

This controversial episode underscores the intricacies of political rhetoric and the dynamics of electoral politics, with both sides using powerful metaphors and analogies to make their points.
