In a recent statement, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a key figure in the formation of the INDIA bloc, expressed his belief that the ruling BJP at the Center might be planning to advance the Lok Sabha elections. Kumar confidently asserted, “‘Humlog har samay taiyyar hai (We are always ready).”
Having severed ties with the BJP a year ago, Nitish Kumar emphasized the unity of the multi-party alliance, quashing any doubts about internal divisions. He stated, “We all are united and intact, working tirelessly for the people. Our track record in Bihar reflects our commitment to development, encompassing infrastructure projects like road construction, bridges, electricity, and water facilities. Ultimately, the electorate will have the final say (Janta Faisla Legi).”
Joining Kumar in affirming the unity of the coalition, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav declared, “We are intact and will unitedly fight the coming polls.”
Nitish Kumar, known for his stance on press freedom, remarked on the current media landscape, stating that a change in regime would bring liberation for journalists. He asserted, “Let the government at the Center change, and you (journalists) will experience ‘mukti’ (liberation). Presently, the media is under the government’s control. I stand in support of journalists. When everyone enjoys complete freedom, journalists will have the liberty to write as they please.”
Regarding the special session of parliament convened by the Center, Kumar, whose JD(U) holds 16 seats in the Lok Sabha, commented, “The session’s agenda remains unclear, but our members are present and prepared to vigorously address critical issues.”
This development signifies Nitish Kumar’s proactive approach in the ever-evolving political landscape, as he and the INDIA bloc continue to navigate the nation’s political dynamics.
