Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is rapidly establishing itself as a prominent data centre hub, attracting investment proposals totaling Rs 40 lakh crore. The proposals, disclosed during the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors’ Summit (UPGIS) 2023, encompass various sectors, including semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.

Addressing the convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow, CM Yogi Adityanath urged the youth to explore career opportunities in this burgeoning sector. He emphasized the state’s alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to transform India into a $5 trillion economy by 2027.

“In the last nine and a half years, India has explored possibilities for its youth energy. The result is that the image of the country has changed in every field,” remarked CM Yogi. He cited the goal of making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion-dollar economy, showcasing the state’s commitment to economic growth.

The Chief Minister also underscored the role of technology and digitization in achieving the objectives of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living.’ He particularly highlighted the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing digital hospitals, offering significant benefits to residents in rural and remote areas.

Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a data centre hub aligns with the broader economic goals set by the central government. As India aims for a $5 trillion GDP, Uttar Pradesh’s strides in sectors like semiconductor manufacturing position it as a key contributor to the nation’s economic growth.

Note: The investment figures and details are as per the announcements made during the UPGIS 2023.
