Ayodhya: In the midst of a political tussle, Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple responded to Uddhav Thackeray’s remarks, shedding light on the intricacies of invitations for the upcoming Ram Lala consecration ceremony.

Das emphasized that invitations were selectively extended to “devotees of Lord Ram,” rejecting the notion that the event was politically motivated. He defended the Prime Minister, stating that the BJP is not fighting in the name of Lord Ram but rather expressing devotion.

Thackeray, asserting his stance, declared that he didn’t require an invitation and could visit the temple town at any time. However, he urged that the event should remain free from political entanglements.

The chief priest also directed criticism at Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, accusing him of insulting Lord Ram and highlighting the irony of the party, which allegedly used to campaign in the name of Lord Ram, now questioning the event’s political nature.

Over 7,000 invitations have been dispatched for the consecration ceremony, including 3,000 for VVIPs, priests, donors, and politicians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to attend the inauguration on January 22, participating in the rituals within the sanctum sanctorum.
